1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the CityHopp mobile application, the CityHopp website and related support interactions. The service is provided by Auxilium Labs Private Limited.
Third-party services that you open or use through CityHopp—including transport operators, ticketing or payment providers and ride services—may apply their own privacy policies. This policy does not replace those policies.
2. Information we may handle
Account and profile information
When you create or use a CityHopp account, we may collect your name, mobile number, email address, authentication or verification details, saved places, travel preferences and account activity.
Location and journey information
With your permission, CityHopp may process approximate or precise location to show nearby stations, select an origin, plan a journey and provide navigation. We may also process origins, destinations, selected routes, stations, travel modes, searches and saved places that you choose to use.
Information you provide
We may receive information you provide through support messages, feedback, referral features, ticketing or booking flows. Depending on the feature, this may include your name, contact details, booking references and the content of your request. Payment credentials may be handled directly by the applicable payment or booking provider rather than stored by CityHopp.
Device, app and diagnostic information
We may process app version, device and operating-system information, language, notification token, coarse technical identifiers, feature interactions, performance information and crash or error logs. This helps us deliver notifications, diagnose faults and understand whether the product is working as intended.
Advertising information
Advertising features may involve an advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, approximate location or selected city, app interactions, and information about ads shown, viewed or selected. We will not use precise GPS location for advertising without a specific notice and any permission or consent required by law.
Information stored on your device
CityHopp stores certain preferences, saved locations, search history and offline or cached transit data locally on your device. You can remove some of this information through product controls or by clearing the app’s storage.
Website information
This static website does not currently provide account sign-in or use advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may still process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page and security logs to deliver and protect the website.
3. How we use information
We use information where needed to:
- provide route planning, nearby-station results, navigation, saved-place and station-information features;
- personalise and localise results, including showing relevant cities, stations, routes, travel options and recommendations based on your current location, selected city, saved places, searches, preferences and interactions with CityHopp;
- support metro ticketing, referrals, notifications and connections to supported ride or mobility services;
- remember your preferences and make relevant information available offline;
- maintain safety, prevent misuse and protect the integrity of the product;
- measure performance, diagnose errors and improve features;
- select, deliver and measure general, contextual, location-based or personalised advertising as described below;
- respond to support, privacy, business and legal requests; and
- comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
Where applicable law requires consent, we ask for it before using relevant information. You can withdraw a device permission through your operating-system settings, although the related feature may stop working.
4. Sharing and service providers
We may share limited information with providers that help us operate CityHopp, including:
- cloud hosting, storage, remote configuration, analytics, crash reporting and notification providers;
- mapping, places, routing, geocoding, weather and transit-data providers;
- metro operators, booking partners, payment providers and mobility services when you choose to use their features;
- advertising and advertising-measurement providers, subject to the notices and choices described below;
- professional advisers, regulators, courts or public authorities where legally required; and
- a successor organisation in connection with a merger, financing, restructuring or transfer of the relevant business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
When CityHopp opens a third-party app or service, your interaction with that service is governed by its own privacy terms. We seek to provide only the information necessary for the requested connection or action.
5. Advertising and personalisation
CityHopp may display advertising to support the service. Advertising may be general, based on the context or approximate location of a journey, or personalised using permitted information and choices. We provide notice and obtain consent where required by applicable law.
Types of advertising we may use
- General advertising may be shown without creating a profile based on your activity.
- Contextual or location-based advertising may be selected using the screen or feature you are viewing, your selected city, trip context, or approximate location.
- Personalised or relevant advertising may use permitted signals such as searches, journey interests, saved preferences, interactions with CityHopp or an advertising identifier to infer which ads may be useful to you.
Advertising partners
Advertising may be delivered by third-party providers, such as Google or another advertising network selected by CityHopp. Depending on the choices available to you, these providers may process device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, app activity and ad interactions to deliver, limit, secure and measure advertising. Their own privacy policies will also apply to their processing.
Location safeguards
City or approximate-location information may be used to make an ad locally relevant. CityHopp will not provide precise GPS location to an advertising provider or use it to personalise advertising without a clear, specific notice and any permission or consent required by applicable law.
Your advertising choices
Where personalised advertising is used, CityHopp provides any notices and choices required by applicable law. Depending on your device and the advertising provider, you may also be able to limit ad personalisation, reset or remove an advertising identifier, or change location access through your device settings. Declining personalised advertising will not necessarily remove all ads; you may instead receive general or contextual ads.
6. Your choices and rights
You can control location, notification and similar permissions through your device settings. You can also update or remove saved places and local app information through relevant product or device controls.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, restrict or object to certain processing, or raise a grievance. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request and may retain information where the law permits or requires it.
To make a privacy request, email support@cityhopp.app with “CityHopp privacy request” in the subject.
7. Retention and security
We retain account and profile information while your account is active. If you request account deletion, we delete or anonymise information linked to your account, except records that must be retained for payments, refunds, fraud prevention, support, disputes, tax, accounting or legal compliance. Other information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your device protected and do not send full payment credentials or passwords through support email.
8. Children’s privacy
CityHopp is intended as a general-audience mobility product and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children without any consent or authorisation required by applicable law. We do not intend to profile children for personalised advertising or use children’s personal information for targeted advertising where prohibited by law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission may contact us to request review and deletion.
9. International data transfers
Some service providers may process information in locations outside your state or country. Where required, we use contractual, technical or other recognised safeguards intended to protect information during those transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as CityHopp develops, our providers change or legal requirements evolve. We will publish the revised policy here and update its effective date. Where a change materially affects your rights, we may also provide an in-app or other appropriate notice.
